Is it possible to buy a language book which is inexpensive and not bad or even very good? The answer is: yes!
In this post I would like to describe a Polish publisher – Edgard. This publishing house is present on the market since 1996 and it is a leading producer of language books, audiobooks and software.
Edgard provides books for learning 32 foreign languages (!) at various levels:
- American English
- British English
- Polish (for foreigners)
Among those books dictionaries, full language courses with software and CDs, short stories with exercises, audio courses, apps, flashcards, courses preparing for exams (matura, CPE, CAE, FCE), games for children, grammar books are on offer. The range is so wide that you can easily find something for yourself; no matter how old you are – Edgard offers books for children, teenagers, adults and seniors.
The quality of their books is very good; in terms of both design and content. Every item contains many various exercises and/or recordings. Everything is well-organised and encourage to learn and it doesn’t mean that you have to drop a bundle on them. If you have 30-50 zl, you can afford a great course.
I have a lot of books from this publisher and I’m very satisfied with them; however, some items may be insufficient for some people, but it depends on a learner and their needs. Although I found some spelling or grammar mistakes in a few books, I think it does not influence the quality significantly; it happens. Besides, you can report every problem to the publisher and their products are still updating.
Pros and cons:
+ Good quality: content and design
+ A great range of choice
+ The offer is still extending
+ Everything prepared by specialists
– Some mistakes can happen
– Some learners may want more

I encourage you to check Edgard and try to learn from their books.
